Pete a Day: 9

Today is the last day to jump on Michael’s contest. DO IT! Since Michael is in Hawaii the cut off time isn’t until late. Oops! Just saw the cut off was last night.

Pete a Day: 3

Lyla seems to be taking after her father in that we both love Lego. She really enjoys car Lego sets. This picture, while not a picture of me exactly, is a picture of a vehicle I created for her. I combined a race car kit and a police car kit to form this 3 axled behemoth.

Intellectual property is me right?

Taken on a Canon T2i with a 50mm 1.8 lens.

This is part of a contest Check it out here.

Disappointment a Day: 12

Today was pretty awesome.  A trip to the Lego Brickfair was pretty cool. I’m a huge nerd. I love Legos. There’s something about those tiny little blocks.

Here’s my gripe. We were playing bingo. They were giving away Lego kits. Awesome!

Amberly got two sets of bingo cards, and little Lego tiles to use as markers. It was the second round, and we were playing for this kit:

Pretty cool, plus it is discontinued.

I got a bingo!!

I yelled. I waved. Then another hand went up. And another, another, another, and one more. SIX! Six little hands all reached toward the sky calling out, “BINGO!”
DANG those little buggers. The guys running the game said this was unprecedented. Six confirmed bingoes in one round. It took them forever, but finally they found two of them in the back. There were also four Lego watches in the pile. Then,  all six bingo-ers were asked to pull blocks out of a back. a black block gets a kit, a white block gets a Lego watch. The two kids were first followed by four adult winners. Yes, four adult winners. Lots of dorks out today.

First kid got a black block. Second kid got a white block. He was disappointed. The third person, first adult, drew the other black block. All the sets were gone. I got a Lego Racer watch.

Sure I was disappointed.
It didn’t last long.

I found out the watch was worth more, and Lyla loves the car Lego kits.

Disappointment = short lived
