Disappointment a Day: 20

I’m really disappointed in these newscasters. Sure this tornado wasn’t as big as last April, but it doesn’t feel that way to those directly affected.

Disappointment = newscasters being aholes. Aren’t they usually?

I won’t post photos of this stuff outside my front door. No need to feed the machine.

Disappointment a Day: 19

My eyes have quit hurting, but my vision isn’t quite here yet. I still have the contact bandages in. It feels like I’ve slept in contacts for the past 3 days. Wait, I have. I know with my proceedure that I can’t expect full vision results for 10 days to up to 6 weeks.

It’s a little like waiting on Christmas only to find out that the batteries to that new toy can’t be had until a week or more after Christmas. I’m pumped, but a little disappointed it wasn’t immediate.

I knew that going in that it wouldn’t be.

Disappointment = fast food healthcare expectations.

Creator v Consumer

It’s time to be a creator and not a consumer. Creatives must consume to create, correct?

Much like food; keep the crap to a minimum, and  creativity to the maximum.

I have surgery Thursday, and once I’m able I have another daily project that will wind up here. At least it could. Two posts a day? Now that is just stupid. If all goes to plan I could have up to 3 daily posts and additional weekly projects I’d like to do. In an effort to keep from overwhelming myself I’ll start one. Keep it up for a while, and if things work well add the next a few weeks later.

Love,

Uncle Pete

Completed 5K!

I ran in the Race to the Highlands 5K this weekend. It was a beautiful Saturday morning. My friend Michael came out to push me along. He is an incredible runner. I hated that I held him back, but I’m glad he stuck with me throughout the race. If not for his encouragement, I would have not finished as well as I did. My finish time was somewhere around 33 minutes. I wanted to throw up by the time I got to the finish line so, I’m a bit fuzzy on what the time clock read. Hopefully the race director will post results, and I can share those with you my readers (all 2 of you).

The course was great. There were two wicked hill climbs. I’m not that great at judging distances, but one of them had to be over a quarter mile straight up. I really need to work on my hills. I also found that I need to find a better way to warm up my calves and ankles. I did a good job of prepping everything but those areas. It could be I just need to work on ankle strength.

Bike riding in Haleyville

Here’s a couple shots of Mom and I riding bikes earlier today.
