Pete a Day: 67 Disappointment a Day: 76 Inspiration

Me at work. Yep, exciting. I love when I hear people asking a creative where do ideas come from. I’ve heard some crazy things, and most say that they just come out of nowhere. I believe I can be a little more specific. Where does inspiration come from? Monotony. In the picture, I’m working on a trimmer. I have some of my best ideas come to me while I’m working on that machine. A constant drone and vibration that allows the mind to wander.

I’m just disappointed I can’t offer a better answer.

Pete a Day: 61 & 62 Disappointment a Day: 75 Dinosaurs and the Bible!

Yes, lazy I know it. I fell asleep yesterday.

HOLY CRAP, look what I found at the thrift store today. I don’t really care where everyone stands in the theological sense, but this book was just stupid. If the inside of the book had as awesome art work as the front cover I would have bought this bad boy. Yes, in case you are wondering those are velociraptors running away from Noah’s ark. No mention in side the book why Noah forgot to go two by two with those two bad boys. Am I disappointed in the fact this book is an affront on common sense? Nah, People can believe what they want. Am I disappointed this book wasn’t more awesomely illustrated? Sure, maybe a little. Am I disappointed that there really weren’t dinosaurs hanging out with Noah? Yes. I want to believe that this image could have happened. If it is true then why weren’t they granted two by two status? It has been a while, but I’m pretty sure I don’t remember God speaking to Noah saying, “Gather the animals two by two. Except for those huge lizards. Let them drown with the heathens. You tell me.

Who really likes Candyland? My three year old likes it for about five minutes, but she insists on playing it multiple times in a row. I’m sure there is some sad subset of the population that loves this game. It is probably due to them that Adam Sandler is making a Candyland game. Yep, let that sink in. You’re disappointed too aren’t you?

Disappointment a Day: 73

It looks like I’ll be ripping on Disney yet again today. This morning Lyla and I were watching Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

It is a cute show I’ve seen a few times. Peter Pan is gone and Jake keeps Captain Hook at bay with the help of his friends. This particular episode was the return of Peter Pan. I thought that would be an interesting show. Peter Pan was a bit of a dick. He gave one of the characters a bag of pixie dust stressing that it is for emergencies only. This is all highlighted by Peter floating around like a gaggin’ fairy. He flies constantly. Even when they are all in danger Peter is the only one to fly while the others must hop to safety. Peter Pan is a jerk.

Captain Hook also has no desire to kill Peter. How disappointing. He just wants him to leave Neverland, again. When did this change? Hook wants Pan dead or at least wants to take Pan’s hand.

I know this show is aimed at younger viewers. If they must change these fundamental Peter Pan Points then don’t include Pan.

Disappointment a Day: 72 Sometimes the new isn’t better than the old

I got to witness a CEREC Mill in action the other day. Long story short technology is making more jobs obsolete. This machine can do in about an hour what would take several weeks of work for the dental lab to make by hand. It disappoints me when I hear of some new neat and awesome technology replacing humans with machines. Kyle Reese was right.
